96 people signed up for our recent automation webinar as part of Techweek 2020.
Here are some highlights if you missed it!
• RPA is well used in NZ, with many of the larger companies having RPA as part of their digital transformation strategy.
• The ROI is often high and it’s quick to implement, with development only taking a few weeks!
• Scaling automation initiatives is a common issue, and therefore needs to be a holistic approach.
• In terms of the future of RPA, we expect the following:
– Further introduction of RPA for manual processing tasks
– An increased use of “human in the loop” where we use automation software together with a person as a support tool
– Integration with artificial intelligence.
Through questionnaire, we had quite a bit of feedback relating to barriers to implementation and how RPA can be taken beyond a proof of concept phase.
Therefore we are running another seminar the Thursday 27th of August on “How to get started and scaling RPA”.

1. What appealed to you most about the role at Probotics?
I wanted to come to Probotics because I like to optimize things and wanted to build my skills in the consulting area. I find optimisation to be very satisfying.
2. What do you want to learn during the coming 3 months?
I would like to learn how to better design projects, how to pick the right tools for the right job and more about Azure and cloud/devops in general.
3. What has been the biggest surprise during the first week?
I’m not sure about biggest surprise but I’m impressed by the UiPath software, it seems very mature and strong.
4. What is your favourite code language?
Favourite language is a tossup between C# and typescript, but I think i’ll go for C#.
5. What is a skill that no one at Probotics yet knows you possess?
Climbing and wind-surfing!

It’s not as action packed as it sounds, but our latest RPA solution – “bot”, can monitor overdue invoices and send emails direct to debtors. If the invoice remains unpaid, it reminds them again after another 30 days with a warning of credit stop, and after yet another 2 weeks with a notice of credit stop. process used to be performed full time by an employee, but due to the high volume, the invoices were not always followed up in a timely manner. The first email reminder, in most cases, is enough to prompt payment, therefore if you are always sending these reminders on time, it instantly increases your cash flow.
This solution above, was developed fully remotely in just 2 weeks, freeing up 40 hours of manual time, and produces the ultimate goal of increasing cash flow.
